A house of humble beginnings, house Leona was started by Miranda Leona, second of her name. The daughter of first generation merchants, their trade dealings led to frequent visits among the initial settlements within the north western hill settlements along the Chiantina river. Through the amassing of wealth within these settlements, and the families love of the area, soon they petitioned the then King for lordship over those new settlements who's former house had recently died out to plague and rumored poisoning. Granting their request for a modest sum and trade favors, they soon set to work developing the region into an ideal region for wine making, developing the slops around the river into some of the finest vineyards of the kingdom. Now, they rule over two vassal houses derived from their family line in lands fully settled and explored since the time of their granted lordship. Their power, still derived through the wealth of trade and connections with long standing merchant companies, now is poised to begin settlement of the western plains past their current control. Surely, these fertile lands will be ripe for producing further trade goods.
